Ethical and Trustworthy AI: Lessons from the Front Lines [MAICON 22]

Gemma Galdón Clavell, PhD
Course Duration: 42 minutes
Released: August 2022
Level: Beginner
As global leaders in algorithmic auditing and ethics by design, Eticas has had the opportunity to test ethical and trustworthy AI principles into practice in fields as diverse as social services, health and natural language processing (NLP). In this session we'll share lessons learned and details on how to practically incorporate good practice into AI development and thus avoid financial, legal, and reputational risks.

A lot has been written and commented about AI and Ethics from an academic perspective. But very little practical work has been done in terms of implementing ethical and trustworthy AI.

Dr. Galdón's keynote will help you realize that certain industry standards are increasingly in risk of falling out of the eyes of the general public and legislators; from a functionality point of view to a discriminatory and unfair outcome.

And the truth is that the examples that can be shown relating to day-to-day situations and processes that we go through individually, at work or at a personal level, and as a society are outrageous and extremely impactful and, quite frankly, they pass absolutely unnoticed.

Ethics is becoming the quintessential piece in creating and developing technology and AI that performs in the most complete and thorough way possible, and the conversation about innovation and future must include it.

This Course is a recording of one of the main stage talks at the Marketing Artificial Intelligence Conference (MAICON), which was held in August 2022.
