Rachel Dooley serves as Chief Innovation Officer at Kirkland & Ellis, helping to shape strategy around AI and the future of legal service delivery. Prior to joining Kirkland, Dooley was Chief Innovation Officer at Goodwin, leading a multidisciplinary team on developing the firm’s strategies around Generative AI, the next generation of legal apprenticeship and the future of the office programs. Before Goodwin, Dooley served as the Global Managing Counsel of McKinsey Digital, a McKinsey & Company growth platform that delivers technology-enabled services to clients across all geographies, sectors and technology use cases. Dooley is an experienced technology lawyer who is lit up by emerging technology—including quantum computing, AI, cloud infrastructure and transformation, and data and ethics—and taking a design thinking approach to complex problems. As a lawyer, Dooley regularly advised clients on cutting-edge issues in emerging technology, including AI/ML and Cloud, and future-facing technology like Quantum Computing.
Professor Christa Laser is an intellectual property law scholar, speaker, and teacher and an experienced litigator focusing on issues including patent law, federal courts, and technology law (including artificial intelligence and the law). Before becoming a professor, she practiced at the law firms Kirkland & Ellis LLP and WilmerHale in intellectual property litigation and strategy consulting. She represented leading life sciences and technology companies in all stages of trial and appellate matters and consulted on legislative and regulatory changes to intellectual property laws.
